We invite psychologists, other mental health professionals, researchers, teachers, students, and other activists to join Psychologists for Social Responsibility for our July 2010 Conference, “Toward a More Socially Responsible Psychology.”
In a relaxed and interactive environment, conference participants will explore the mixed influences of psychology in both advancing and hindering the causes of peace, social justice, human rights, and sustainability. We’re anticipating a very special conference, one that will provide an unusual opportunity to learn together while building a stronger and broader community committed to shared social change work.
The conference begins with afternoon workshops on Thursday (July 15th) and concludes with a community dinner on Saturday (July 17th). The single registration fee is all-inclusive--it covers all sessions, evening receptions on Thursday and Friday, a Friday luncheon, and the Saturday night banquet.
**ACCOMMODATIONS**
PsySR has arranged a discounted room rate of $139 per night at the Holiday Inn Boston-Brookline (1200 Beacon Street), where Friday's and Saturday's morning and afternoon sessions will take place, along with the Friday luncheon and the Saturday night banquet. Some other options for economical accommodations are described HERE.
**CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW!** We also encourage you to join PsySR or renew your membership for the upcoming 2010-2011 year--through May 2011-- when you register for the conference. In so doing, you'll receive an additional discount on conference registration, as reflected in the registration fees below. Registration includes a Thursday evening reception, Friday lunch, Friday evening reception, and Saturday dinner. Membership dues and a portion of conference registration are tax-deductible. You will receive an email confirmation for your tax records.
SPECIAL NOTE: We're eager to make this conference as affordable as we can for individuals with limited incomes. If you are able to do so, please consider including a donation to our SOLIDARITY FUND when you register for the conference. The current student and limited income fees are substantially lower than our break-even point so it is only the generous donations to the Solidarity Fund that enable us to offer these lower registration fees for students and others on limited incomes. Thank you!
