PsySR’s Action Committees

Psychologists for Social Responsibility accomplishes much of its work through its Action Committees. These groups are linked on a regular basis by email listservs and they meet in person at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association and other professional events. They publish resource materials, plan conferences, develop PsySR statements on issues, and offer networking and information-sharing opportunities to their members. To become involved with an Action Committee, make sure your PsySR membership is current and simply send an email to an Action Committee co-chair. Then be sure to sign up for the Action Committee's listserv.

PsySR Initiatives

PsySR is excited to introduce PsySR Initiatives, a new way for members to engage with each other in pursuing their shared interests and commitments. Initiatives are similar to our Action Committees but have a looser format. They are generally actions or research in a developing stage, or currently less active or “committee-like” than in the past. Initiatives have more modest expectations in terms of the scale of their activities and/or the number of members involved. They have a twice-yearly opportunity to be named Action Committees through broader involvement of PsySR members and significant progress on one or more major projects. If you are interested in joining an ongoing initiative or an initiative-under-development, please contact the PsySR member whose email address is provided. If you would like to explore the possibility of starting your own initiative, please email info@psysr.org with a description of the proposed initiative’s focus and goals.

PsySR Listservs: Stay Connected

PsySR has two general email distribution lists (managed through Yahoo! Groups), and we encourage members to join both. They are a very useful way to stay connected with fellow members and the national office. More information is available HERE.
