2009 International Society of Political Psychology Meeting in Dublin, Ireland--July 14-17
The theme of the International Society of Political Psychology (ISPP) annual meeting was "Overcoming Political Violence, Injustice, and Deprivation: Perspectives from Political Psychology." Information about the 2010 conference is available HERE.
11th European Congress of Psychology in Oslo, Norway--July 7-10
The European Congress of Psychology: A Rapidly Changing World--Challenges For Psychology was held in Oslo, Norway from July 7-10. The International Network of Psychologists for Social Responsibility (InPsySR) held its second annual general meeting on July 6th and sponsored a number of symposia and pre-congress workshops focused on peace and human rights. PsySR's "Activism in a New Era" -- Sunday, February 15th in Washington, DC
This strategic brainstorming session for the Peace, Social Justice, and Human-Rights Community took place at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, Feb. 15th, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The event was free and open to the public. Symposium: "The APA and Coercive Interrogation" -- Saturday, March 14th in Chicago, IL
The Social Justice Group of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology will host a symposium addressing the recent referendum of the American Psychological Association (APA) which prohibits psychologists from participating in settings that violate International Law or the US Constitution. Speakers will include PsySR members Frank Summers and Brad Olson. More information is available HERE.
